A pretty, yet hardy and adaptable fern. Leathery fronds to 30cm. A.hispidulum will cope with poor soils and exposed situations provided it has good drainage. New fronds are bronze to rosy-pink, ageing to green. Very easily grown. Does best in a sheltered position in the ground.
A large fern which can develop massive trunks with multiple crowns. Each crown bears a number of erect, leathery bright green fronds. A large specimen is an impressive sight. Very adaptable, and easily grown in a variety of situations and soils.
Known as the Lady Fern due to is soft lacy fronds, it is very adaptable and when established it does very well, it can be deciduous depending on the climate but will always put on massive growth in spring, best in semi shade, do not hesitate to prune of old fronds
